Question 1

What areas does GM 5.0 Construction serve?

Accepted Answer

We're based at 2405 Grand Ave in the Bronx, NY and work throughout the New York City area — the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens — as well as out across Long Island into Nassau and Suffolk County.

Question 2

Are estimates free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We come out, walk the space, and give you the scope and the price in writing at no charge and with no obligation. If the job needs more preparation than it first appears — and older buildings often do — the estimate says so up front rather than turning into a change order later.

Question 3

What are your hours?

Accepted Answer

We work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. For commercial jobs we also schedule evenings and weekends when that's what it takes to avoid disrupting your business or to fit a building's freight elevator hours, so ask if you need work done outside normal hours.

Question 4

Is GM 5.0 Construction a registered business?

Accepted Answer

Yes. GM 5.0 Construction LLC is a registered limited liability company operating out of the Bronx, New York.

Question 5

How much does it cost to paint or remodel a room?

Accepted Answer

It depends far more on condition than on square footage. A room with sound walls needing two coats is straightforward; the same room with cracked plaster, failed caulk, and three doors' worth of trim is a different job. Remodeling varies even more, because the finishes you choose can double a budget. That's why we quote from an actual walkthrough rather than over the phone — so the number you're given is the number you pay.

Question 6

Do I need to move out or empty the room while you work?

Accepted Answer

For painting, no. We move and cover furniture, protect the floors, and mask everything that isn't being painted, then clean up at the end of each day so the space is usable overnight. For a full kitchen or bathroom remodel that room is genuinely out of service for the duration, and we'll tell you honestly at the estimate how long that will be.

Question 7

Can you handle work in a co-op or condo building?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work regularly in Manhattan and Bronx buildings with alteration agreements, certificates of insurance, protected lobbies, freight elevator windows, and restricted working hours. Tell us the building's requirements at the estimate and we'll plan the schedule around them rather than discovering them on day one.

Question 8

Do you do commercial work as well as homes?

Accepted Answer

Yes — offices, retail units, restaurants, lobbies, corridors, stairwells, auditoriums, and unit turnovers for landlords and property managers. That includes metal-stud framing, fire-rated assemblies, and suspended ceilings for full build-outs, not just paint. Commercial jobs are scheduled around your operating hours.

Question 9

Can you repair the drywall, or do I need a separate contractor?

Accepted Answer

We do the repair and the paint. Nail pops, cracks, doorknob holes, water-damaged ceilings, new metal-stud partitions, and full sections cut back to the framing — including matching the existing texture and priming the repair so it doesn't flash through the finish coat. Using one crew for both means nobody's arguing about whose job the priming was.

Question 10

Do you install flooring as part of a remodel?

Accepted Answer

Yes — luxury vinyl plank, laminate, hardwood, and porcelain or ceramic tile. We check the subfloor for flatness and moisture and level it before anything is laid, because nearly every flooring complaint we're called out to fix (lifting planks, cracked grout, hollow-sounding tile) comes from the subfloor rather than the material on top of it.
